The game tells the story of Elhant, an Elven Ranger and his columns to save the Elven kingdom of damnation by the conflict. The main story is divided into 16 missions in the game
Heroes of Annihilated Empires has four playable races: Elven (Folk Sylvan), undead (Legions of Ashes), mechanics (dwarves who use machines), and Cryo race (barbarians with a specialty in the cold magic) . The player can also choose one of three types of heroes: Warrior, Ranger, and Mage. When the game starts, the player can cast a spell called "Rally the troops" to turn the hero into a statue for 30 minutes, and in return, gain a few builder units, or sell the lot for 2100 gold coins. If the player sells out, the game plays like an RPG, otherwise the game plays like an RTS.
